I was thinking more about this card duo. There are some more lovely interpretations. This is perhaps how we court our relationship with comics in general. With our project, with our cohort. In any of those cases, they can serve us and befriend us for years to come.

Of course, Nancy is distracted. Maybe that's the human nature. We feed our long-term project (our selves, our practice, our projects) but we remain distracted, wondering if there isn't something better, if we're doing it right, etc.
