What to Expect
This event showcases a range of work centered around sequential art — an umbrella term for visual storytelling that unfolds through images arranged in a specific order, often to tell a STORY. While comics are often the most widely recognized form we study and showcase at SAW, the work viewed at Word of Mouth expands far beyond that.
Attendees can expect to experience everything from mini-comics and zines to comic strips, photo-comics, collages, and storyboards, alongside short films, video pieces, and even performances that combine music or comedy with projected imagery. Each piece explores how stories can move through time visually, using sequence as the core structure.
All work presented is fully realized and complete, offering a finished glimpse into each artist’s approach to visual narrative.
This is also PARTIALLY a tabling event. Artwork by the guest artists, local artists, and snacks will be provided. Come hang with us!
