Comics Working Group with Frankie D.
Make Comics Together!
Our in-person Working Group is a chance to use the space and community each week and chip away at a longer form (ish) project that has been difficult to get to. This Working Group will be led by Frankie D., a local cartoonist adept at making ridiculously detailed comic pages.
Artists of all levels welcome!

What to Expect
We recommend bringing a project you're excited to work on—whether that's a graphic novel, a series of zines, a large painting, a novel, or something similar. Bring whatever materials you typically use, such as a laptop, drawing supplies, or a tablet, along with a notebook or sketchbook to collect critique notes and track your progress. For critique nights, it's helpful (but not required) to have a printed version of your work; if you need help printing, just email 24 hours in advance. Most importantly, bring a willingness to share your work-in-progress, give thoughtful feedback to others, and approach the process with an open mind and supportive spirit.
We’re here to help you learn…
how to stay motivated through steady weekly progress
how to give and receive constructive, sensitive feedback
how to navigate creative roadblocks with a supportive community
how to develop sustainable work habits that balance creativity and accountability
how to assess feedback and apply it thoughtfully to your project
No prior experience needed.
Class size is limited to 15 participants. Subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment isn’t met.
Sponsored in part by the State of Florida through the Division of Arts and Culture and the National Endowment for the Arts.

About the Instructor
Artist from the East Coast with a passion for storytelling and creating characters.
If you came here for fun facts, I really dig horror comedies, action movies, heavy metal, and rollercoasters! Paranormal and spooky themes really interest me, too.
