Create a Scribble Bot!
May Day Strong asks everyone to skip work, skip school and skip shopping but you don’t have to skip fun! All participants will leave with their own scribble bot, artwork, and the satisfaction of contributing to a meaningful cause all while having fun and making new friends.
All materials are provided: butcher paper, high quality duct tape (color is fun), AA batteries, rubber bands, contact motors, solo cups, popsicle sticks, markers.

When, Where, & Who?
—-> When: Tuesday, May 1, 2026 from 5 PM to 6:30 PM.
—-> Where: In-person at 1314 S Main St, Gainesville, FL.
—-> Who: Intermediate level artists ages 16+ interested in art! Limited to 15 participants. Subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment isn’t met.
What to Expect
In this workshop, participants will make their own "scribble bot," a tiny robot made of a cup, duct tape, batteries, and a contact motor with markers and other drawing utensils attached.
The evening includes a presentation about a local immigrant safety fund and instruction for creating and playing with scribble bots. Bring your inner child.
