About the Instructor
I’ve been teaching graphic narrative at the college level at Bryant University for over a decade, have moderated panels at comics festivals MOCCA and MICE, and was an Ignatz Judge in 2024. My work has been published in Saw anthologies Up to Code, Field Notes and Solstice magazine. Two of my translations of Czech comics are published with Graphic Mundi (BALD and Heartcore by Stěpánka Jislova), and shorter excerpts from Elephants in Marienbad (by Mašek and Baban) are online in Words without Borders and Shenandoah Literary magazine. I’ve published two academic works on comics: Chris Ware: Drawing is a Way of Thinking (2009) and Comics of the New Europe (2020).
