Queer Comics

Queer Comics Course Description
Queer storytelling has always pushed the boundaries of form, genre, and visual language.
In Queer Comics, students will explore how queer perspectives take shape across multiple genres like memoir, science fiction, nonfiction, and horror comics. Each week focuses on a different genre, encouraging experimentation and play while supporting each student’s unique, personal voice.
This workshop is designed as a space for queer, questioning, and allied artists to explore storytelling through comics while discovering which genres and approaches resonate with them the most.
By the end of the course, students will complete a 1–2 page finished comic inspired by one of the genres explored in class.
