It's doesn't matter what age you are, you can read this whole post

Because we really only have one message which is: You Can Do This!

But we do have two variations, for those at the beginning of their artists journey, and those more world-wise.

—-> Under 30? (or thereabouts)?

The SAW program was originally started in 2011 by me, Tom Hart after 10 years of working in a very expensive, exclusive art school.

I saw so many students NOT able to attend because of the price, and this bothered me.

And since I was on the inside, I knew what it took to teach comics and put people on their way. It took dedicated teachers, a strong curriculum and a space for trust and a community for learning. That's all. The extra $30,000 was for the reputation of saying you went to this school or that school.

So I found a studio in an affordable, arty town, and we started teaching.

I founded SAW to be the school I wished I had gone to when I was young. A school where people go to learn and to connect, to connect with teachers, to connect with their own passion, and to connect with others like them.

We've done that for 11 years and there's room for you this year, at a price you can afford.

—-> Over 30? (or thereabouts)?

I'm one of you. I've been through so many hurdles in trying to commit to my practice, to learn this art form, to find the time and self-discipline to keep at it, to learn WHO I REALLY AM by making work that tells me.

When I was starting out, art seemed so effortless for others, and moreover, they were supported, by their parents, their peers, their own minds and bodies. I felt like everything was a battle, and I'm still learning, and the space we've created at SAW allows you to develop at your own pace.

We know your time doesn't feel like your own. We also know we can be our own worst enemies, and that we need community to keep us accountable.

The SAW program is designed for you to succeed and to make progress.

For all of us,

there's no time like now. Let's do this, let's make the commitment to your art, to who you WANT TO BE.

That's the SAW Year-Long Online Comics Certificate Program , and we're starting soon for next year!
