Meditative Art - Starting Jan. 29

Relax and dive into a creative process to explore your interior landscape of thoughts and feelings. Experienced artists will expand the subconscious, emotional, and spiritual aspects of their art practice. Non-artists or new artists will discover art-making and self-awareness in a freeing, playful, and non-judgmental way. This course will use the concept of chakras as a structuring element. Chakras are eastern spiritual system describing concentrated areas of energy and power in the human body. Each session will begin with a relaxing, guided meditation and visualization on a chakra. The Images, symbols, sensations, and emotions that arise for students during the meditation become raw material for art making. Students will work with brushes, paint, and canvas to create fluid, expressive artworks. Everyone is welcome— no art experience necessary. Students may make abstract or figurative work, of any style.
