What leads your creativity?

Check out what Tom Hart had to say to our students in the SAW Alumni Circle:

“We had a great Open Draw and Chat Zoom the other day!

One thing that came up was leading with your drawings or your writing. We tend to do one or the other. I lead with my writer. And I hand things off to the artist.

The problem with that is my artist is CRAZY, and unreliable and untrained and a bunch of other things. MY ARTIST is like a crazy black Labrador. Like, VERY ENERGETIC, and very reliable with a very limited range of expression.  But that's it. Can't give them too many challenging tasks.

What is your artist like?

OR: what is your WRITER like?

Or how else are the two separate for you and what metaphors work for you?”

- Tom Hart
